Don’t quit your job. Change your life.

February 11th, 2010

You’re in a job. You get a paycheck to pay for the home that you go sit in after work.

But, you don’t know what else you should be doing.

It’s easy to fall asleep in your own life.

It’s easy to take what you have, and think, that’s all there is.

Because, you feel fine. Your life is fine.

But there are things that you love to do, that you’ve forgotten about.

Why do you think you’re reading this blog post?  I can tell you why: because this is a message you need to hear. You are reading this, wherever you are in the world, and being told that you have a purpose.

You are here, in this world, for a reason. You have something that you were meant to give it. And the work you are here to do comes from inside of you, who you really are.

Is there is something that you’ve always wanted to do, in the back of your mind?

Now is the time do it. No matter what you believe about your life or the state of the world.

But maybe you don’t know what you love to do. You think, shouldn’t there be one, concrete thing that I know I want to do with my life?

If you don’t know about a concrete thing you want be doing, there  isn’t a concrete thing for you to do right now. Instead, here’s what you do:

Go back to the last place that you really knew who you were.

Think about the last time you really felt alive and knew yourself.

What was fun and exciting? What came to you easily? When did you always seem to lose track of time?

What is the most amazing way you could spend an afternoon?

Put all of the energy you can into those things that you love, and just see what happens.

Because you don’t have to quit your job to change your life.

I’ve seen lives profoundly change from something as small as changing your diet.

From bringing a picture of a horse into the office. (Now, rehabilitates abused children though working with horses.)

From incorporating more of what you love into your everyday.

Need some inspiration?
