Working with Me
Read on for a little more about (1) what it’s like to work with me, one-on-one, (2) what it’s like to work with me in my classes, and (3) the kinds of results people can get from working with me (because, you want to know what you’re signing up for!).
If you want to know more about the actual content of what I do, not just the structure, go here — and for more about who I tend to work with, go here.
(1) How the one-on-one work with me goes down.
When you work with me (one-on-one):
- You get the absolute most specialized-to-you-and-your-situation information, exercises, feedback and compassionate support.
- And about your personal support meter? It’s the fullest it’s been in ages.
- While working on yourself is important (so important!) things tend to happen much, much faster when you’re facilitated by the right person.
- So, whatever your objective is, you get there much faster — and learn loads of unexpected, helpful and relief-inducing stuff along the way.
- You feel freer in the life you already have, calmer about the changes you need to make, and equipped to take the actions to get you there.
Logistically, this is what happens:
- We always talk for one-hour increments, usually every-other week.
- I typically work with people for 4 to 8 sessions, total. After that, you’re equipped to do this work without me (though, occasionally people come back months or years later for a one-session tune up).
- We talk only on the telephone (as opposed to in-person) whenever I work one-on-one.
- I call you (at the scheduled time).
- All times that I ever list are Eastern, but I try to remember to state that (though sometimes I forget to — sorry!).
(To start working with me, first see if any of this sounds like you.)
If that’s you, then let’s get to it! Contact me here! Yay! After you contact me:
- We correspond briefly — it’s delightful — to get an idea of your objective. You can read about some of the kinds of objectives I tend to work with here.
- Then, after you contact me and we delightfully correspond about your objective, I (or my assistant) will email you a secret webpage where you book and pay for your session (or sessions). You pay through PayPal, and book your sessions with an online schedule that looks like a monthly calendar, where you pick one of my available times that works best for you.
- Before every session together, I spend at least 30 minutes prior preparing myself for our work together (both mentally and literally through gathering tailored exercises, information and resources for you).
- After every session together, I spend at least 30 minutes reflecting on our work and then emailing you any additional thoughts or practices that are right for you — as well as re-explaining the assignment we discussed.
During our sessions, we talk about the hard and the good things in your life and you learn new information that’s vital to your objective. I’m huge on new information.
We also do non-traditional learning, such as (but, not limited to…):
- You close your eyes and I guide you somewhere (it might be a house; it might be an elevator shaft; it might be the inside of your right foot) that shows you undiscovered opportunities and epiphanies.
- We speak in metaphors when something is touchy or unclear to kindly get to know it a bit better.
- You may be having some vivid dreams — we talk through those, too, and what your dreams may mean to, specifically, you.
- We may imagine your future, and speak to you as you are there.
Basically, we do lots of regular ol’ learning, but because you’re not a head-on-a-stick, but a human being, we get your body and imagination involved in our sessions and through your assignments.
Speaking of assignments… I typically assign you some stuff to do in between sessions. You email it all back to me before the next session (if you happen to want loving and supportive feedback from me) to help you even more towards your objective.
Finally, you email me questions directly to my inbox whenever you have them — and I answer promptly.
Whew! I think that is it. If not, ask away here.
(2) Here is how the class work with me goes down.
We take classes together for lots of reasons:
- It’s fun to connect to with people who are lovely, with whom you have so much in common!
- We enjoy stuff together (because of how I have a slight addiction to delicious food and, most specifically, chocolate).
- You get a lot of great new ways to think about things to create relief now, and to get the fastest changes — like exactly how to listen to your body, exactly who you like working with, and exactly what makes you tick (and smile).
- You also get weekly supportive emails from me.
- You get a Q&A component with every, single class together.
- All of the great stuff you get, and lots of hours of my time, comes straight to you at a fabulously discounted price. Hooray for deals!
- You get the recordings of all of our classes to keep and re-listen to, as needed.
- Your assignments between classes go straight to my inbox, if you want personal and careful and kind feedback to encourage you on your way.
- We are forever more connected, and we stay in touch as much as you’d like to. MWAH.
Sign up for existing classes here. And, welcome!
But if there aren’t any classes right now (sad), sign up to be the very-first-to-know about new classes (before they sells out!) here.
(3) Results!
You can read some stuff that people I’ve worked with have said about me here. Keep reading for more of the kinds of results people get from working with me.
Experience relief and clarity about the problem or issue you’re facing.
- Whether it is your weight, food obsession, your current job, or finding a new career, by examining a whole host of information you organize exactly what is going on for you, the necessary work for you to do and any work that is unnecessary.
- We hammer out a a very doable framework for you to use to understand where you want to be.
- The results of this work provide an acceptance and clarity about yourself you never thought possible (and you can even have 3 glasses of wine in one sitting).
You will have a plan mapping out how to get to where you want to be.
- From your environment to your interests to the demands of your current job, you develop precisely the right path for you.
- When you are clear on a path, you can better understand what you truly want, figure out the fastest and best way to get there, and exactly how to take those next steps before you.
- This works even if the right path includes your hobby as a speed racer.
You will take the mystery out of making the right decisions.
- You develop your own robust decision criteria that accounts for the many factors that support a life that is good.
- You feel prepared in choosing the right things for your life — roommate or no roommate? That depends on how many arms he has (answer: 1.5).
- Too often, we make plans and decisions based solely on what we think we are ‘supposed to do’ without taking stock of what actually makes us tick. Tick tock goes your clock.
- By understanding your own decision criteria, you feel better about the decisions you make and reduce the risk of making ones that are wrong for you.
What if you know you are miserable, but don’t know what to do about it?
- Don’t worry, your overwhelm is understandable. Establishing a clear framework around what’s lacking, your strengths and your ideal situation is the way to evaluate your next steps.
- You discover your answers through any of the many paths to self-discover which uncovers them — I use tradition evaluators, and non-traditional, too (because both have their place).
- We teach you how to systemize the chaos so that starting the solution is simple.
Identifying what you need to feel happy.
- If your career is out of whack, then relationships, fitness and other components of your life suffer. You may feel overwhelmed and confused about where to begin.
- I teach you clear, specific tools that to get you clear and get you started. You can use them on your own in the future (self-sufficiency!).
Okay! I think that’s all of the result-type info we need for the moment. Click here to read about the wonderful people that I tend to work with, and see if we’re a match.
